Violet Gladys Williams, 96, of Lodi, passed away February 25, 2011 in Lodi. She was born May 20, 1914 in N. Dakota. Mrs. Williams (she was Violet Porterfield before the death of her first husband) was a teacher at John Adams Elementary School in Stockton. She was a member of PEO, several bridge clubs, LOEL Senior Center, Lodi Garden Club, California Teachers' Association, Lodi Travel Club and United Congregational Church. Mrs. Williams was the loving mother of James Porterfield (& Gerda Kennedy) of Sacramento and Kay Bennett (& Peter), the dear sister of Marjorie Parkinson and Betty Beckman,the devoted grandmother of Tracy Porterfield, Scott Porterfield, John Michael Porterfield and Nicholas Bennett, the cherished great-grandmother of 7 and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend graveside services, 11:00am, Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, 5750 E. Pine St. Arrrangements entrusted to the care of Rocha's Mortuary, 215 S. School St.
