Nickolas Castillo March 31, 1921- October 29, 2011 Nickolas Castillo, 90, of Lodi, died on Saturday October 29, 2011 at the Menlo Park V.A. facility. He was born March 31, 1921 in Fresno. His family came to Stockton when he was a young man where he met and married Irene Montano in 1942. In 1944 Nickolas joined the United States Army and saw action in Europe where he was wounded in action and received 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He then returned to Stockton and was employed by Hormel Foods for 38 years as a supervisor. Nickolas was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Irene Castillo, daughter Kathy Grey (Gary), sons, Michael Castillo, Nickolas Castillo (Vivian), 7 grandchildren, Natalie Abbott, Dawn Maffei, Ronnie Peluso, Jerome Filip, Nicolette Castillo, Hannah Castillo, Hunter Michael Castillo, 7 great grand children and 4 great great grand children, sisters, Tillie Correa, Evelyn Lira, Angelina Torres, and a brother Tony Lopstain. He was preceded by daughters, Carolyn Castillo and Patricia Filip and a granddaughter, Amy Maffei. Graveside services will be private at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
