Obituary of Robert William Fernandes

Robert Wm. "Bob" Fernandes, of Lodi, passed away on February 25, 2012 at the age of 77. He was born to William Fernandes and Esther (Reimche) Perkins on April 9, 1934 in Oakland, CA. Robert was an autobody painter for 25 years. He also worked at Todd Ship Yard in Alameda, CA, Perry & Key Body Shop in Hayward. He also was the owner of Autobody Hospital in Fremont, CA and Boshnack Bureau of Appraisals in Concord, CA. Bob also was a teacher at the "Auto, Marine, and Specialty Painter's Local Union 1176" teaching autobody painting for 8 years at the Laney Colleage in Berkeley. He was also a Cub Scout Master for Troop 176 in Fremont for 2 years in the late 60"s. He took great pride in all that he did especially his hair, his 50's pompadour. Bob was married to Lorraine Larsen on June 9, 1956. They were married for 26 years and had 4 children, Robert Wm.Fernandez, Jr. (Joan) of Manteca, Jackie Pauley (Thomas) of Manteca, William Larsen of Livermore and Patricia Fernandes of Lodi. He married Patricia Bates on December 31, 1982. He married Sally Jo (Roggow) High on November 19, 1989. Sally preceded him in death on January 14, 2012, just 42 days prior to his death. They were married for 22 years. When Sally passed, Bob lost a big piece of himself. Bob lived most of his life in the Bay Area until moving to Discovery Bay with Sally in 1993. Bob & Sally then moved to Lodi in 2002 where he has resided since. Bob was also preceded in death by both of his parents, William Fernandes (1976) and Esther (Reimche) Perkins (2002). Two brothers, Donald Fernandez (2002) and William Fernandez (1944); two sisters, Linda (Fernandez) Sprague (1969) and Betty Jean Fernandes (1948). He is survived by 2 sisters, Nancy (Perkins) Winkler of Sacramento and Patricia (Perkins) Hardaway of Washington, and all his children, Robert, Jackie, William and Patricia, Jerry High, Michael High, Landry Miles, Darrell High. He also has 5 grandchildren, Amy (Iampietro) Green, Robert Fernandez III, Evelyn Pauley, Phillip Pauley and Hannah Larsen. 2 great-granddaughters, Chelsea Green and Isabella Green. Bob enjoyed deer hunting in Jackson, CA and Colorado, fishing, boating, bingo and playing cards with his family. He also enjoyed taking an occasional trip to Jackson Rancheria. Burial will be celebrated privately at his request. His final resting place will be at Lodi Memorial Park, 5750 E. Pine St., Lodi. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Rocha's Mortuary, 215 S.
