James G. Phillips, 62, of Galt passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in Sacramento. He was born August 27, 1949 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. James met Bobbie Jean at a friends house in Santa Clara and they were married two years later on January 4, 1969 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Santa Clara. James was employed by Sunnyvale School District as head custodian for 13 years and later as a machinist and truck driver for Allied Disc Grinding in Lodi for 17 years. He and Bobbie enjoyed riding motorcycles, he was a country and western fan, John Wayne fan, western movie fan, enjoyed playing pool, loved old cars and Hot August Nights. He and his father raised Beagles and enjoyed hunting together. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Bobbie Phillips of Galt, sons, Larry Phillips of Galt and Robert Phillips of Gridley, parents, Larry K. and Mary A. Phillips and a sister, Brenda Kay Alley. He was preceded in death by brothers, Larry Dale Phillips and Dewey Lee Phillips. Memorial Services will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at the Rock Church on Bradshaw Road in Elk Grove.
