Obituary of Clement Eugene Stack

Clement E. "Mickey" Stack, Jr., age 76, died on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, following a short battle with cancer. Mickey was born on February 18, 1937, in Dubuque, Iowa. Mickey joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 and during his time in the Navy was a certified radioman and while at sea visited various ports in the Pacific. While in the U.S. Navy, Mickey met his future wife, Joanne, in Long Beach, CA. Mickey and Joanne married in 1957, and Mickey later received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy. Mickey and Joanne eventually moved to Lodi, and Mickey was employed as a Sales Representative with R.J. Reynolds, retiring in 1993 after 32 years.Mickey was an avid athlete in High School and continued his love of sports as a volunteer coach for the Lodi Recreation Department. Mickey coached a variety of sports for four decades. Mickey was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year twice by the Booster of Boys Sports (B.O.B.S.), for his untiring efforts as a coach and mentor. After retiring from R.J. Reynolds Mickey expanded his volunteering to include the Lodi Police Department Partners Program and through local chess clubs. Mickey is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joanne (Ritchie) Stack of Lodi; son Jeff (Pam) Stack of Ranburne, AL; daughter Laurie (Bob) Braun of Ione, CA; his sister Connie Dares of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Grandchildren Eric (Carissa) Stack of Oxford, AL; Ashley (Zach) Stack-Johnston of Auburn, AL; Jordan Braun and Danell Braun of Ione, CA; Great-Grandsons Benjamin and Joshua Stack, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mickey was preceeded in death by his father, Clement E. Stack, Sr.; his Mother, Ruth LuGrain; and half-sister Jean Sandry Schroeder. In keeping with his wishes, no memorial or funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Lodi Recreation Department or Hospice of San Joaquin County.
