Obituary of John Rocero
John David Rocero, 18 entered into rest in Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer on August 18, 2013. He was born at Dameron Hospital in Stockton on August 26, 1994. He attended Growing Tree Preschool, Lodi Seventh Day Adventist Elementary and Lodi Academy through the 10th grad. During radiation and chemotherapy he was able to complete his high school diploma by home study through the Lodi Unified School District. He was granted a special request and celebrated graduation with his classmates at Lodi Academy in May 2013. John was passionate about sea life and enjoyed many trips to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. He spent many summers attending church camp at Leoni Meadows and Lake Shasta youth trips. He loved helping with Vacation Bible School. He enjoyed entertaining the children at family gatherings and other occasions. He was a member of English Oaks Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lodi and served as Junior Deacon. In December 2012, he was the grateful recipient of Make -A-Wish Foundation to meet the fighter Manny Pacquiao. John is survived by his parents, Roy Sr. and Patricia Rocero, brothers, Roy Jr and Wes Rocero, sister Mela McGary, doting grandmother, Barbara Jones, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and school mates who will dearly miss him. We have hope that we will all be together again when Jesus returns. A memorial services will be held on Sunday September 1, 2013 at 4:00 pm at English Oaks Seventh Day Adventist Church 1260 W. Century Blvd. Lodi and a private committal at Cherokee Memorial park. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Children's Tumor Foundation or Make-A-Wish Foundation
