Obituary of August Miller
August Miller Jr. went home to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 4th, 2013. He was born in Linton North Dakota on Jan. 23rd, 1930 to August and Katherina (Huber) Miller. August worked on his father's farm and other farms until he entered the Service Svc Btry 188th F.A. He then returned to North Dakota and worked for the State. He moved to Lodi, Ca. where he worked for Spickerman Pipe Co. for over 20 years. He then moved on to Steel Fabrication and became a partner in Western States Steel. He owned and managed several properties. At retirement he moved into the country and started a hobby farm which gave his farm boy heart many pleasures. August was loved by many. His family was at his side and shared his fight through every phase of his illness. August was a member of Zion Christian Fellowship where he served on the Board. After moving to the country, he was an active member of Gateway Church in Lockeford. He was a member of American Legion Post 22 of Lodi. He enjoyed Bowling and was on two senior teams a week. August is preceded in death by his Parents, brothers Melvin, Edwin, and Delmar. August is survived by his wife and love of his life Virginia for 58 years. One daughter Jean Ann Beck (Clayton Jr) a son Robert August Miller, 2 grand children Drexel Anderson and Clayton Beck III (Sara.) Great grand children Matthew, Emily and Drexel Jr. Brothers Calvin; Emil (whom passed Oct. 5th, 2013,) sisters Amanda Semenza, Hilda Miller, Wilma Weber, Eleanor Maier and many nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Augusts' life on Nov. 2nd, at 10:30 am at Gateway Church 13555 E. Hammond St. in Lockeford Ca. Many thanks to our friends and Church Family during this time.
