Gramps. You were a great man. My grandfather. My hero that was quiet, yet strong. I have missed our talks about the weather... and goofing... Books... and remembering grandma. I know you are happier now. You are with her. You are not lost here, because your memory is alive in the stories we tell our children and someday our grandchildren. I know you never felt worthy, but your namesake lives on in my two boys. I named them William and Russell after you for good reason. Love. Love in you. Love in the way you treated grandma and the wonderful memories I have. Grandma wasn't your better half, just your other half and we miss her everyday also. I will never forget you and the little things, like going to the store with you and getting stuffed animals and treats. You always sneaking us money. The knocking on the cars as we left. The honor of having you come live with us for a little while. Life wasn't easy for you, and yet, you survived and made the most of it. You were a good man. You were my Eyore, and I will love you and miss you with an ache in my heart as I have missed grandma all these years. The difference is, I feel a little lighter knowing the sadness I carry is mine, because you are where you wanted to be and she isn't waiting any longer. Love you forever Grandpa!
