Obituary of Dorothy M Blevins

On January 11, 2014, Dorothy Blevins went to be with God after a very long illness. Born Dorothy Bright on Sept. 25 1932 in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, she moved to California to start her nursing career. Her first job was in French Camp at San Joaquin General Hospital, where she met and married Herbert Blevins who was a critical patient there at the time. They moved to Lodi, Ca., where Dorothy had a long career at Lodi Memorial Hospital. She loved her job and was a very devoted nurse. Her family was the most important thing to her and we will never forget all of the amazing things she did for us. Dorothy and Herbert spent their retirement years going on cruises all over the world. They loved to travel.Dorothy is survived by Herbert Blevins, her husband of 58 yrs., her two daughters, Carolyn Luis (Matt), of Pahrump, NV, and Diana Stark (Shawn), of Napa, CA. Dorothy was a very loving grandmother to 4 grandchildren, Jamie Wilson of Napa, CA., Jason Luis of Las Vegas, NV., Angela Meza and Marci Luis of Pahrump, NV. She is also survived by 6 great-grand children, Isabelle and Carly Meza, Jenna and Kyle Luis, Edward Steeves, and Jarod Wilson.She adored her family and we will never forget her. She is also survived by George and Jean Vasconcellos, her brother-in-law, and sister-in-law from Manteca, CA, several relatives in Canada, and her very dear friend, Maria Jyono, of Lodi, CA. Rest in Peace mom, you are no longer suffering and we are grateful for the time we had with you on this earth. We love you and will miss you terribly.
