Obituary of Richard Wiliam Wagers

Richard William Wagers passed away on Monday, January 29, 2014. He was born on March 24, 1918 in Lodi to parents Gerald & Maurine Wagers. Richard attended local schools & married Jacqueline Wagers in 1937. Theirs was a union which lasted 74 years, ending at her death in 2011. During WWII, he worked as an electrician at Colberg Shipyards in Stockton, building mine sweepers. They owned & operated Wagers Electric, a family vineyard and later developed, built, & operated Dry Creek Golf Course. They later moved to Reno, Nevada. Mr. Wagers' favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, skiing, water skiing, & collecting antiquities. Most of all, he will be remembered by the family for all the love & support he gave them over the years. He is survived by his son, Gary Wagers, daughter, Judy Schultz, son, Terry Wagers, grandchildren Melody, JayDee, Bradley, Nikki, Troy, 8 great-grandchildren, & sister, Geraldine Focacci. He was preceded in death by brother, Barney Wagers. Burial will be private in Lodi, CA. In lieu of donations, Richard would appreciate a smile & the sharing of goodwill to others in his honor to celebrate his life.
