Obituary of Delbert Clinton Litz
Delbert Clinton Litz, born in Lodi, California on May 27, 1945, went to rest with family and friends Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the age of 71. Del attended elementary school at Woodbridge School, and he graduated from Lodi High in 1963. Del enlisted in the United States Navy in 1965. He was an operating room technician, corpsman in a field hospital assigned to the 31(1 Marine Division, Quang Tn, Vietnam from 1968 - 1969. Upon his return to Lodi, he briefly worked for A Teichert & Son, and retired from General Mills in 1996 after 25 years of employment. Delbert Clinton Litz married Cheryl J0 Colbum in1970 with whom he enjoyed 46 beautiful years of life and devoted love. Del had a great love for the outdoors and to spend his days at the cabin hunting and fishing the Middle Fork Feather River in Pluinas County. He was an avid history reader with special interests in military wars, both foreign and domestic. He delighted in attending concerts at Ironstone Winery, and Shakespeare festivals and plays. He was very proud of his military service and loved to share his stories. All who met and knew him, loved him. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church & School for 46 years and loved his Lord with all his heart. Del is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughters Corinne Litz and Sarah Litz-Kautz (husband, Jack Kautz), granddaughters Ariana Lawrence and Emma Kautz, sister Faye Meyers (husband, James Meyers), and brother Bradley Litz (wife, Mardella Litz). He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Litz, and mother, Bertha Louise Coupe Litz. A memorial service will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, October 14 at 2 p.m.
