Obituary of Beverly J. Coffelt

Beverly Jean Coffelt (Brooks) Born October 23, 1926, passed November 26, 2016. Beverly was born in Oakland, California. She went to schools in Alameda and Oakland before moving to Stockton in 1944 to attend the College of the Pacific. Soon after college, Beverly married Jack. They moved to Coronado Island, California, where Jack was stationed in the Navy. After Jack's service, they returned to Stockton to build their home, pursue careers and have their three children , Jody, James and Jeff. Beverly became very active in the community including the "Bookmobile," PTA, school councils, and the United Methodist church. Beverly was also a member of Delta Mu Alpha and the Philamatheon Women's Club. Beverly's hobbies included: boating with Jack, playing piano, singing, knitting, sewing and decorating for parties. Beverly also dearly loved animals, especially her dog Lance. Beverly worked at the Martin Funeral home for 19 years. After retiring she and Jack enjoyed traveling the world and cruising. She was preceded in death by Albert Brooks Jr. (brother), Jeffrey Coffelt (son) and Jack Coffelt her beloved husband of 65 years. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Jody Coffelt (Les Knutson); son, James Coffelt (Justine); grandsons James Coffelt (Corina) and Joseph Coffelt (Stela); and two great grandchildren. Services are to be held at Rocha's All Faiths 215 S. School St Lodi, on December 9, 2016 at 10:30 with committal at Farmington Cemetery.
